People

Six lawyers, four decades of continuity

The firm is led by six practitioners whose experience runs from the United States Federal Communications Commission and the courts of Washington to Somalia’s Provisional Constitution and its telecommunications framework. Most have advised on the country’s largest matters, and they have stayed.

Leadership

The people who lead the practice

Six senior practitioners lead the firm’s mandates, supported by associates and staff across eight offices.

JD (Ottawa), M.Sc

Abdiasis Duale

Telecommunications Regulatory Specialist

LL.B (Stellenbosch), MPA

The team

Behind the six named lawyers, the firm sustains associates and support lawyers across eight offices, spanning the Federal Member States, the Banadir Regional Administration and Somaliland. That footprint is the practical capacity that lets a matter in Mogadishu, Hargeisa or Garowe be handled locally rather than at a distance.

Since 1983 the firm has served as a training ground for Somali lawyers. Its partners founded the Benadir Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Corporate Lawyers, and co-founded the Somali Institute for Continuing Legal Education; many practitioners now in government, in-house teams and private practice began here.
